“Cars kill more people than guns! What’re you gonna do, regulate cars next?”
You idiot. You moron. You utter buffoon.
Cars ARE regulated.
The permit test. The permit. The practice year. The regulations on how many hours you have to drive and at what hours and with whom. The driving test. The license. The requirements regarding insurance. License renewals. Road laws. Highway laws. Speed limits. Seatbelt laws. Carseat laws. Laws against drinking and driving and other forms of intoxication. Red lights. Not passing in intersections. Right of way.
WHO can drive and WHEN and HOW and WHERE are all regulated, because yes, a car in the wrong hands can kill a person. Just like a gun.
Oh but wait, there’s more!
I, as a licensed driver, can’t drive anything I want. I can’t drive a motorcycle. I can’t drive a speedboat.
You know what else I can’t drive? One of these.
To drive a semi-truck, I would need a Commercial Driver’s License or CDL. There are age limits involved, as well as required hours of training and study. There’s a written test and a driving test. There are also medical requirements.
And even if I passed all that, you know what I STILL couldn’t drive? One of these.
To drive a semi loaded with hazardous materials, you would have to get a federal H endorsement added to your CDL. And to get that, you have to jump through even MORE hoops, including another written test and a background check.
So yeah, guns should be better regulated. Any Joe Blow shouldn’t be able to stagger down to a gun show and get himself a sweet piece without some oversight.
And ESPECIALLY no one should be getting their hands on a semi-automatic assault rifle like an AR-15, aka the Hazardous Semi Truck of guns. There are professional reasons that a person might need clearance to handle and own such a weapon, but not a civilian. Not an unscreened rando off the street.
Try not to be such an utter wanker that you place the mere potential of a power-boner over the lives of actual children like those killed in Parkland, Sandy Hook, and elsewhere.
Pedophiles don’t deserve to feel safe. You know who deserves to feel safe? Children. And children can’t feel safe in a world where pedophilia is accepted, normalized and seen as something positive.
coming into 2018 all I want is every aspect of my life to be genuine. genuine love and connections. genuine intentions. genuine curiosity. genuine happiness. I want everything about me and my soul to be genuine and I want it to radiate throughout everything I do, think or say.
5 things I did that improved my mental health in the last 1 year
1. I realized my worth. It was so hard because it meant letting go of those who didn’t. And those were the people that I loved. It hurt so bad. When the ropes that tied them to me were cut, I got cut too. I bled. It hurt. But then those wounds healed like wounds always do. And Now? I am free.
2. I started taking care of myself and that involved going back to the things I learned as a child. Brush your teeth. Take a shower. Sleep on time. Sleep enough. Drink loads of water. Walk. Let your skin shower in sunlight. I keep a habit tracker. It’s simple. It lets me be conscious of my daily needs and whether or not I am fulfilling them.
3. I learned that you don’t always have to respond. To what people say, to that person texting you after 8 months of complete silence, to negative comments, to accusations. It doesn’t make you a coward. Not in the least. What it really does is, is let you be at peace. But the hard part? I also learned that you don’t always have to respond to ‘I love you’ either.
4. I learned to not be extreme. Yes I don’t want to do anything with them. But do I need to burn their letters? Delete all pictures? Even when I’m not sure how that will make me feel in the long run? No. I learned to store it all away in a place I wouldn’t touch until I wanted to. It’s been a year. I haven’t once touched.
It works for all aspects of life. Had a bad day at work? Do you just yell and quit? No. Have 100 bad days at work where they don’t respect you but still continue to be silent and work? No any extreme isn’t good.
5. Food is important. So important. They just don’t say ‘you are what you eat’ to sound silly. Food is literally you putting something in yourself. You gotta be more mindful of what, when and how much you’re putting in. Don’t restrict yourself. But don’t not monitor yourself either.
Her name is Jane Elliott. She was a former schoolteacher, now she’s anti-racism activist, feminist and LGBT activist. She’s tiny, mean, and boss as fuck.
She’s known for her “blue eyes-brown eyes experiment” where she divides a group of volunteers from the blues and the browns. The minute the people walk in, the blue-eyes know they’re not welcomed. She makes them wait in a separate room, gives them shitty chairs, bad food, and shows them less respect. And (obviously) it causes all sorts of discomfort and rage, but that’s precisely her point. It doesn’t help that most blue-eyed volunteers happen to be white as well. Sometimes they get the message, sometimes they don’t and leave, sometimes crying or screaming. And Jane Elliott says that’s exactly what minorities want to do everyday of their lives, but they simply cannot do.
Did I mention she’s boss as fuck?
I love Jane!
….and allllll their faces cracked around the room!!!! 😏 ..ole’ chick know wassup!
We all know a loner. They tend to enjoy spending as much time on their own as they can. Of course, they do have friends. It’s not that they dislike people. They just have less of a need for peer acceptance than most.
The actual question: Ramon has an AK47 with a 30 round clip. He usually misses 6 out of every 10 shots and he uses 13 rounds per drive by shooting. How many drive by shootings can Ramon attempt before he has to steal enough ammo and reload.
In Alabama,
Joanne Bolser, a middle school teacher has been placed on administrative leave after parents knew about what’s happening at Burns Middle School. The teacher forced children to solve math quiz that involved questions about drugs, guns, violence, prostitution etc.
Some more questions:
‘There are 20 girls in his gang… What percentage has Tyrone knocked up?’
Another references a drug dealer named Leroy, who ‘sells an 8 ball to Antonio for $320 and 2 grams to Juan for $85 per gram’.
‘What is the street value of the rest of his hold?’ it then asks.
There are also references to ‘Ramon’ and his frequent ‘drive-by shootings’, ‘Pedro’ serving six years for murder, Desmond and his stolen BMW and Corvette cars, and Dwayne - who ‘pimps 3 ho’s’.‘If the price is $85 per trick, how many tricks per day must each ho turn to support Dwayne’s $800 per day crack habit,’ the question then asks.
That’s actually pretty fucked up for 8th grade math, isn’t it?
The actual problem is that it’s not the first case of distributing savagery to children. The test is called 'The LA Math Proficiency Test’ that has been circulating since the early 90s. Hundreds of teachers in states including California, New Mexico, Texas, and Illinois have all been suspended after handing out the test in their class. And I’m not surprised to see exactly these states with the highest numbers of employees who are racially biased and have discriminatory attitude.
